CSR/Contributions to Society
Supporting Food Bank Activities
In the manufacturing process, when Miyata comes across a nonstandard product or other products that can’t be distributed in the marketplace, we donate free of charge the food products to facilities and organizations that need them through Japan Food Bank Association. This part of our business supports the activities the food banks. We aim to bring more smiles to faces around the country by striving to be a company that delivers happiness through sweets.
NPO Hotline Shinshu
We contributed 150 boxes (3,600 packages) of potato chips (sour cream and onion, lightly salted) to NPO Hotline Shinshu, which provides self-reliance support for the needy people in Nagano Prefecture and supports the creation of living spaces for children among other activities.
The nonprofit operates 70 children’s cafeterias around the prefecture. Sweets we delivered were used in an event to help children learn good eating habits. The children talked about how to eat the delicious chips and enjoyed comparing tastes. The chips were distributed to the children and to their families.
Second Harvest Kyoto
We contributed 100 boxes (2,400 packages) of potato chips (sour cream & onion, lightly salted) to Second Harvest Kyoto, which operates food banks in Kyoto.
We were able to help these organizations, which offers aid through food to needy people and children in difficult situations. The sweets contributed by Miyata were distributed through each organization to the children and their families.
